Easter Monday
Easter Monday reminds us that resurrection is not just the celebration of moment in history, it is a life that keeps unfolding. It is what happens after the stones that imprison us are rolled away, when new life begins to take shape in the everyday.
God creates transgender lives. Transition is its own kind of resurrection in which we rise into new life. It is not always easy, but it is holy.
I have felt this power in my own life, my own transgender resurrection, where fear gave way to freedom, and despair to joy. Yesterday I woke up joyful to be alive and that energy carried over in to how I led worship.
Easter does not end at the empty tomb. It continues in every story where God calls us out of death and into who we truly are.
